WALK LEADERS: James Gitto, 5th Square Member / neighborhood advocate, and Chloe Finigan, coordinator Feet First Philly
MEETING PLACE: Outside Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse (2578 Frankford Ave, at Huntingdon St)

Free. Rain or shine. All are welcome.

Join James Gitto, 5th Square member & neighborhood advocate, and Chloe Finigan of Feet First Philly, Philadelphia’s pedestrian advocacy organization, on Frankford Avenue to discuss the high demand for pedestrian safety infrastructure and projects. We will meet up and walk along this vital neighborhood corridor to learn what we can do to ensure safer streets.

Walk itself will take about one hour, ending at Frankford Ave and York St – where we will get pizza at Pizza Brain for a discussion on pedestrian safety infrastructure.

Walk notes:

  • Our walk will take one hour. We also included an hour for a discussion afterwards.
  • Accessibility considerations: Stairs, non-accessible curb cuts, or other barriers
  • Our walk will follow a city street, which we expect to have accessible ADA ramps, clear sidewalks, and safe conditions. Unfortunately, issues do come up with illegally parked cars, cracked sidewalks, and missing ADA ramps. We promise to work with every participant when issues arise and encourage people of all abilities to attend this walk.
