Celebrate William Penn’s 375th birthday with a special off-season Jane’s Walk!

Jim Murphy, a Philadelphia history writer and a certified member of the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides, will be your guide for a walk through Old City and Society Hill exploring how William Penn transformed a ‘Howling Wilderness’ into Philadelphia, the fastest growing city in the colonies.

Walk includes stops at Arch Street Meeting House, Chief Tamaned Statue, Welcome Park, Dock Street/Creek, historic churches on Pine Street, and will conclude at Washington Square by 1pm.

  • Accessibility considerations: Busy sidewalks/streets. Uneven city sidewalk/street conditions. Loud noises.
  • OK for kids.
  • Has rest breaks.
  • Dogs and bicycles welcome.
